Truly Grateful

in Friends

As I sit on the couch watching the Super Bowl and blogging, my heart is full of thanks, amazement and awe.  Last weekend my friends moved me from my old apartment into a much nicer, larger, and a smoke-free apartment.  When I went home for Christmas I also brought back a nice case of asthmatic bronchitis and am still fighting this.  Breathing has been rather difficult for me especially when I exert myself so I unable to do any of the moving.  I have a group of friends that rose to the occasion and completely moved me to my new place in the rain and did not complain one time.  My furniture is not easy to move because it is heavy, bulky and I have quite a lot of stuff.  :-)   I am thankful for the friends I have in that they are not just friends in word but are friends in deed as well.  They definitely stepped up to the plate because this move would not have been possible without every single one of them pulling together as a team to make it happen.

I had started to look for a new place to live just 2 weeks ago but every single one that I tried to pursue was already rented or the landlord would not return my calls or the landlord was um, let’s just say, we would have clashed and leave it at that.  I called one last prospect and this time was a charm.  About 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening I made a call and the prospective landlord offered for me to come over and take a look at the rental property.  I called Donna to see if she could drive me to see it because I had taken a dose of codeine cough syrup sooooo, I wasn’t fit to drive!  :-D   Long story short, I signed the lease on that Friday and began moving things in that evening after work.

Now that I’ve been away from the old apartment for a little over a week, my breathing is improving.  The majority of the unpacking has been done and the apartment is finally feeling like home.   I have curtains and mirrors hung (among a lot of other things done around the house) – thank you, Daniel and a variety of things have been done, sorted and put in place, thank you Donna.  I also want to thank every single person that came together as a team player to make this happen – Jimmy, Rebecca, Jacob, Niko, Daniel, Donna, Daniel Mark, Bekah, Josh, and Caleb.  Each and every one of you went above and beyond the call of duty and demonstrated their love and care for me through their actions.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.   My heart is thankful to God for providing the place to live and the resources to reside there and to God for giving me friends that love me as family.  I am completely amazed and stand in awe of every single thing that has fallen into place to make this move happen as suddenly as it did.  I love you guys!
